I’ve seen first hand since Tuesday how a community has come together to protect their family, friends and neighbours homes and businesses and the efforts that have been put in to try and protect precious belongings, lifetime collections and memories.
I’ve seen first hand the numbness on flood victims faces and it rips your heart out knowing there’s nothing you can do or any words you can say to take that numbness away.
I’ve seen first hand the emergency services, council workers, environmental agency, coastguard and volunteers work tirelessly throughout the day and night to make safe, evacuate, transport, donate, make endless cups of tea, the list goes on..........
I’ve seen first hand Reverend Eleanor of Priory Church give endless hugs to the community and the church members take turns on a rota to make sure people are fed and watered and just offer a friendly face in this time of need.
I’ve seen first hand social media pages set up by local people who act immediately to any request. I myself put a call out for cat boxes and within an hour a lovely lady turned up from Hensall with one in hand.
Each and everyone I salute you. I’m absolutely in awe of the community spirit that I’ve personally witnessed and even more so in what I’m seeing and hearing on social media so this is why I’ve set up this donation page, it will go towards helping the flood victims rebuild their lives, with the clean up when it happens, towards the cost of the fuel bill at Priory Church and anything and everything that matters at this sad time.
SO LETS DIG DEEP! even if it’s a small amount, every penny will count. I’ve started this off with £100, I believe this is the least I can do just click on the link below and thank you xx
