Snámh Ghabhla 2023

A group of swimmers are making an attempt to swim to or from Óilean Ghabhla on August 12th. The objective is to highlight the benefits of open water swimming and to raise money to support the treatment of Donegal Cancer Flights & Services. Their founding purpose is rooted in providing care within the community and promoting positive social change and exist to “establish, promote, fundraise, operate a service dedicated to the direct provision of community support for Cancer Patients, their families and carers, provide flights, support and free counselling for children with severe or life limiting conditions and their parents and families in the area who offer support to patients and their families through subsidised flights to Dublin in the year ahead. They also offer free counselling services to cancer patients and family members, information evenings on cancer related topics by healthcare professionals, pampering days where clients are treated to a range of free therapies and treatments in the relaxed atmosphere of Ionad Naomh Pádraig.
