Friends and Family,
We are writing on behalf of our parents, Lynn and Denise Nannemann, owners of the 3 SnapFitness gyms in Albuquerque, NM. They’ve lived in NM for 35 years now and have loved being a part of the community and helping their members reach their health and fitness goals. This community has supported and inspired them since they opened their first gym in 2008. Lynn, a retired engineer, shattered his ankle in 2013 which led to a year of bed rest and an eventual amputation and has been able to remain active in the community and gyms by your support. Denise, always doing whatever job is required of her, washing towels and refilling the vending machines, she enjoys the gym and trainers as much as the members do.
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, they were required to shut the doors until April 10, 2020 at a minimum, however, we do not expect them to be able to get back to work in April. In fairness to their gym members, they decided not to bill them for a service they cannot use.
Unfortunately, their out-of-state landlord is unwilling to work with them on rent despite the fact that they are unable to make any income during this time and the community as a whole is suffering. At a time of unprecedented hardship, this unwillingness to work together for the betterment of the community has disappointed us and devastated their finances. However, we know that the longer they stay closed, the more business they will lose. Further, taking on debt now will become a greater hardship to repay later and these promised loans are not a guarantee.
First and foremost, their desire is to continue paying their employees in the hope that they can once again help others pursue their health and fitness goals together. It’s difficult to predict how long social distancing will be required but they are committed to doing what’s best for the community at large. For now we are asking you to help them pay one month’s rent with the hope that they’ll be able to hit the ground running again soon. Further, we'd like to take advantage of the fact that Quickbooks and other large partners contribute too. #SmallBusinessRelief Other ways that you can help besides a contribution, if you're in the Albuquerque area buy a gym voucher or membership for the future to help them get through these hard days.
With much love,
Tracy, Jon, David, Allison, Kelsey, Charles, and Sara
