Hello,

On April 17th, 2022, my father Patrick was taken to the hospital suffering from body aches and chills. He thought he might have Covid, but the home tests were negative. After several tests, necrotizing fasciitis was discovered in his bowels. He was immediately scheduled for surgery to remove the flesh-eating bacteria and infected skin tissue. This surgery led to many additional complications with his heart, kidneys and lungs. He currently has 12 stents in his heart, is diabetic and is in stage 3 kidney failure.

He remained in the local hospital for five days when it was recommended that he be relocated to a facility in another state, more capable of helping him recover. He remained in that facility for two months before finally being relocated to a rehabilitation facility back in our hometown to continue his healing treatments and help him walk again. On July 20th, my father took his first step and gave us all a glimpse of hope that there was a positive end in sight.

Four months in the hospital puts a lot of stress on a family. Both of my parents are retired and are trying to get approved for disability, which can take up to six months. Medical expenses continue to pile up until that happens. Any support is greatly appreciated during this time.

**UPDATE**

Patrick is getting stronger each day. We thank everyone for their support and prayers through these difficult times! We're starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and are focused on getting him back home where he belongs. Right now, we are working with the medical facilities and insurance agencies to sort out the financial responsibilities, which is a significant headache.
