Snipfest 2 - Top Surgery Funds

Everyone at Snipfest distinctly understands the difficulty of 'putting yourself out there,' especially in marginalized communities. It can be daunting to find peers, intimidating to be in a space with strangers and, unfortunately, potentially dangerous.
That's why we're VERY proud of this year's recipient, Lex, for the work they do bringing people together in the community, and for letting us use their image when talking about the festival.
In their own words:
"My name is Lex and I am a 24-year-old non-binary trans person from Orlando! I am a vegan, I work in food service, and I am in the process of doing my own community organizing and outreach for local LGBTQ+ folks! I’ve been mostly-out for the past 5 years, but recently came out "fully" within the last year so that I could begin medically transitioning. I’ve also begun to add Brazilian Ju Jitsu to my hobbies, and I’m in the early stages of figuring out how to coordinate an LGBTQ+ self-defense group. I co-host a monthly event for LGBTQ+ introverts in search of quiet, sober spaces to meet new people and interact though a company called queeret. It’s the first Saturday of every month at Craft and Common at 7pm! I started co-hosting this because I do not always feel safe or in the mood to go to clubs or shows or be in a non-sober space, and so far it has been going well! I am eternally grateful for this opportunity from Snipfest to go towards my top surgery that I hope to have next year."
