Snowden climb to raise funds for Mental Health

Donation protected
We at 'Beautiful Minds' are a small group of women that have tragically lost a loved one to suicide.
The group was established in 2021 where as members we have been supporting one another through our individual grief journeys and discussing the impact our losses have had on our lives. We are an open group where anyone affected by suicide or mental health is more than welcome to join.
As a group our main aim and passion is to help others through their grief by being a safe, friendly face and a listening ear. We also strive to raise awareness around mental health and suicide and to help anyone who may be experiencing mental health difficulties themselves. This in turn we feel will also help ourselves and members through our own grieving process, and more importantly to be able to honour our lost loved ones by simply being able to help others when in need and crisis.
Mental health and suicide are currently at an all time high so this is even more so, something very close to our hearts and we feel awareness around these issues are paramount.
This summer we have decided as a group that we would like the opportunity to raise funds for 4 local mental health charities :
Open Door Stockport
This charity offers immediate help and support for those struggling with their mental health and those that are at high risk of suicide. They collectively help people of all ages; children through to elderly and rely solely on fundraisers and the generosity of the public.
S.O.B.S Stockport
This charity provides invaluable support group meetings to individuals and families that have been bereaved by suicide, providing a safe and friendly environment for people to share their grief with people whom have experienced a similar tragic loss.
Once Upon a Smile
This charity provides practical and emotional support for individuals and families that have been bereaved, and does a lot of work with with children whom have either lost a parent or sibling. It is exceptionally hard for children to cope with such a loss and the charity provides expert help in this area.
Andys Man’s Club
This charity provides support for men whom are struggling with their mental health, they are also working hard to end the stigma that can prevent men from talking about their mental health. Their main aim is to prevent suicide in men by offering non judgemental support, understanding and intervention.
On the 17th September we will be taking on the task of climbing Mount Snowden. This will be in memory of our lost loved ones and for the purpose of wanting to raise as much funds as we possibly can to help those that need it most.
We will be hoping for sponsorship for this event from our friends, families, communities and local businesses.
We hope you will all join us in raising much needed funds and awareness for a subject that is still sadly overlooked, under funded and stigmatised.
Each and everyone of our minds are beautifully unique and represent the beautiful people we are, however sometimes they sadly become clouded and confused. Together we can help these minds, with kindness, understanding and compassion. Not only helping to access the vital help and support they so badly need but by also raising awareness that is is ok not to be ok.
We would be eternally grateful for any help that you can provide no matter how small...after all every little helps.
Sometimes it takes only one act of kindness and caring to change a person's life. And this is our mission.
Thank you in advance from the bottom of our hearts!

Best wishes from everyone at BEAUTIFUL Minds xxx
