Olivia’s Snowdonia Climb for Cambodia 2026

Hi Everyone,

On July 29th I will be climbing Snowdonia with my mum, Lauren and grandad Gerry to raise money towards my trip to Cambodia.

I will be part of a team of UK students who are volunteering to travel overseas to Cambodia for 4 weeks to help communities in need.

We will be helping to build houses, recreational facilities, toilets, clean water supply’s and much much more. We will be working within the communities to help educate the youth on the English language and gain an understanding of their culture. Cambodia has a troubled history; decades of destructive conflict, civil war, and economic, political, and social oppression has lead to Cambodia being one of the poorest country’s in the world.

17% of Cambodias youth is uneducated. Together with camps international my teammates and I intend to make an impact in righting this wrong.

Please help to fund this project to make an sustainable and life changing impact to these communities and in doing so bettering our world and helping your fellow man.

We are very lucky in this country to have the opportunities and resources we do such as clean drinking water this is one of the major necessities that are viewed as luxury’s in some country’s that I wish to help improve and supply to Cambodia in July 2026.

In the past couple of years I have my completed Bronze & Silver DofE, and I’m ready to take on the Gold Duke of Edinburgh in sixth form this year. I trekked up Machu Picchu last year so feel I’m ready for this climb, however my mums experience of walking is 2 laps of the aerodrome chatting to friends and my grandad is more familiar with a few rounds of golf! Both are willing to support me by climbing Snowdon with me.

The expedition itself self cost £4980 the rest goes to resources, health insurance, vaccines and necessities. I have already raised £1928 so I still have quite a way to go. I would be very grateful for your support again on this challenge.
