So Close When The Septic Tank Collapses

The St. James City Civic Association is in urgent need of a new septic system after a tropical storm caused the collapse of one of our tanks. We have started the permit process and are working with experts to fix this issue. This last year has been a tireless effort to repair our building from the damage caused by Hurricane Ian, but our funds are now nearly depleted. We have received tremendous help from all of our neighbors, and we are so very appreciative.

Despite these challenges, we remain hopeful that our wonderful community will once again rally to our aid. A functioning septic system is crucial for us to continue hosting the monthly events that bring so much joy and vibrancy to all of Pine Island, including Bokeelia, Matlacha, and St. James City.

Your support is needed now more than ever. With your help, we can install a new septic system and get back to providing the enriching programs and activities that make our community so special. Together, we can ensure that this season and beyond is filled with the kinds of events that bring us closer as neighbors and friends. We like to think of this venue as The Central Park of St. James City & Pine Island. We have planned an exciting season for 2024/2025, including our beloved Big Breakfasts starting in November, lively Bingo Nights, and an exciting performance by Deb & The Dynamics on December 7th, as well as Ping Pong, Mah Jong, Dominos, and other exciting events. However, the success of these events and the continued enjoyment of our community space hinges on addressing this critical infrastructure issue of our damaged septic system.

We need to raise $15,000 to get this done and we are short on time, the season is rapidly approaching, and we really want to be ready. We made it through Covid, Hurricane Ian and all the repairs, we received a little slap from a tropical storm - remember we are Pine Island Strong!
