During the SAG strike in 2023, Jillana Darby (Producer and Lead Actress for “The Reveal”) gathered her out of work filmmaker friends to enter the Los Angeles 48 Hour Film Festival. For this particular festival, teams had to choose a genre out of a hat (Jillana pulled Thriller/Suspense) and all teams were given a character, prop and line that must be used in their film. The required elements were the character being a musician named Ross Liverpool, the prop being paint and the line was“Wait for it”. Starting with blank pieces of paper, Jillana brainstormed an idea for 5 hours with her writer, Carla Ching, fellow actors Nelson Lee and Christopher Larkin and Director, Peter Alton. The team shot the film in 16 hours while the Editor, Nick Gartner worked for 28 hours, successfully submitting the film in the 48 Hour allotted time.

On August 20th, 2023, “The Reveal” premiered at the Regal LA Live Cinema in Los Angeles and was nominated for Best Film, Best Director, Best Writing, Best Editing, Best Use of Genre, with Jillana being nominated as Woman Filmmaker of the Year and Nelson Lee winning his nomination as Best Actor.

"The Reveal" has now been selected to have its East Coast premiere at The Myrtle Beach International Film Festival which as a South Carolinian, Jillana could not be more proud of! As a child her family would take a week long vacation to Myrtle Beach and still to this day, they vacation there once a year.

The Myrtle Beach International Film Festival is April 23rd - 27th, 2024 and we are trying to get as many of our cast and crew to South Carolina for this celebration! With your donation, we will be able to purchase tickets to the festival and fund our trip from Los Angeles. With more members of the team at the festival, "The Reveal" will gain more exposure and get the recognition it deserves! Please help in any way you can. Thank you!!
