Support Soberistas For A Happier, Healthier Society

Hi, my name is Lucy Rocca and 12 years ago I created Soberistas.com - a social network website designed to support anyone looking to stop drinking alcohol.

Soberistas was set up on a shoestring. We still run the website on a low budget, as we committed at its inception to keeping the subscription cost low to avoid anyone missing out on the fantastic community support we offer because of affordability issues.

Soberistas is a charity, which allows us to seek donations to support the work we do. Our low-cost membership is ONLY sustainable if we get regular donations to supplement our income.

Why does it matter that Soberistas continues to exist?

⭐️ It matters for all of the people who belong to the community - for whom Soberistas is a lifeline, their safe space, the only place they feel comfortable going to seek the help and connection they need to stay sober and strong.

⭐️ It matters because alcohol is a massive problem in our society and it's tough to stay strong sometimes and not drink, when everywhere around you people are telling you alcohol is great and a necessary part of life.

⭐️ It matters because when someone who has used alcohol persistently to numb out of life quits drinking and starts engaging with the people around them, there are ripple effects that go far and wide. In short, sobriety positively affects society - and so we ALL benefit from helping people quit drinking.

We know that donating in the current climate is asking a lot from anyone, and we are all worried about money.

But think for a minute about what Soberistas saves - not just for individuals but their families and the wider society. When we stop drinking alcohol, we work harder, are more compassionate, have healthier relationships (with ourselves and our loved ones), reduce the risk of disease and injury, and are less likely to behave recklessly with our money. Not to mention that we instantly save £1000s a year by not buying alcohol (money that can be spent on creating happiness, not misery).

Please donate whatever you can. If Soberistas continues to thrive, more people will stop drinking, and more lives will be saved.
