Helping Our Youth Navigate Stress and Excess with Marketing

This fundraiser will drive supportive messaging targeting younger people, encouraging better habits, making for better lives. Because our marketing is proactive and preventative, donations are actually investments lowering financial costs for us all, while at the same time helping young people reduce excess and the related self-harms.

The founder has decades of experience in marketing and over a decade of experience with the recovery community. The preventative messaging and concepts used are a blend developed after years of researching globally and testing dozens of ideas and concepts.

Sober World has a single goal: to help people think better and live better. We do product-free, non-profit “maverick messaging” that interrupts self-harm habits. We are a refreshing counter-narrative to the “do more,” “buy more,” “watch more” marketing excess of today.

How does it work? Our simple reminder messages encourage better thinking. That is the first step in any positive physical and behavioral change, especially addiction related.

Why is it better? The current punitive approach of laws, taxes and prohibition do not help people think better or live healthier. Conversely, added stress and costs make matters worse.

What results? Fun marketing and people making their own positive changes is a longer-term and more cost-effective solution. The one mission we have is to help individuals achieve healthier thinking habits. Compared to fear tactics, a positive approach is proven to help reduce stress and related self-medicating long-term.

Individual by individual, changes in behavior will spread. Collectively, these shifts beget a steady reduction in the massive physical, emotional, and financial harms of all this excess. Simply put, we want to put real living back into life and help families and communities be healthier overall.

Our model supports interrupting and reducing many poor habits. These include (not limited to) alcohol, vaping, tobacco, pot, sugary drinks, screen time, unhealthy eating habits and more. Our messaging promotes better intrinsic reasoning, you choose whatever you deem best for you.

Why should I care? Let’s look first at alcohol. (Stats from the CDC/AI)
• 17% of Americans binge drink regularly
• 9% in recovery from addictions like alcohol
• 178k deaths annually - 95k of those ages 21-40 years young
• 4k children die from alcohol before the legal age to buy it
• $250 Billion in Annual Cost to our society
• Local Police/Fire/EMT/Courts/Prison stress and costs

We all know someone.” With almost a third of our population binge drinking or recovering from addiction, it’s easy to see how that statement is true.

Until now, there hasn’t been a good solution. As mentioned, prohibition, laws and taxes don’t fix the underlying problem.
Your generous donations will directly support our “Maverick Messaging” initiatives, including:
• Encouraging Better Thinking: We turn donations into motivations.
• Inclusive Messaging: Positive diverse and inclusive approaches on social media
• Targeted - This campaign will target young people ages 12-24, the age range in which people are establishing behavioral thought patterns, including good and bad habits. Establishing good patterns early will carry through a lifetime.

We don’t just want donations, rather we want investments in cost savings.
Need to Raise: $ 2 Million
To Reduce: $200 Billion+ Annual USA Cost Problem (per the CDC)
2-Year Goal: $ 2 Billion Annual Cost Reduction for Society (1% reduction)
The goal for this Pilot is an overall 1,000% ROI Annual Savings.
The $2 Million will pay for 2 Years of:
2 Full-Time Employees to Manage and Report (10% of Funds for administrative)
2 Years of Digital Maverick Messaging Campaigns (the remaining 90%)
This is a Pilot program to “Bump The Needle” and build national and eventually global awareness of the Sober World model and motivation to do the same elsewhere.

Beyond the Cost Savings return on investment, we will impact the following:
• Educate and Motivate with fun Maverick Messaging, interactive social media
• Encourage change in thinking patterns
• Redirect and empower countless millions of young people
• Help to save countless young lives from self-harms
• Collaborate and measure with the CDC and SAMHSA
