Sobriety 2025 for women’s aid

Hi, my name’s Elise and I’m a survivor of domestic abuse. And for the whole of 2025 I’m going sober to raise funds for Inverness’ women’s aid. This charity is here to support women, children & young people who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse. They give women the feeling of being heard and people in which they can confide in. For those of you who don’t know Domestic abuse (or intimate partner abuse) is a pattern of controlling, coercive, threatening, degrading and/or violent behaviour, including sexual violence, by a partner or ex-partner. The work this charity does is very close to my heart due to a past abusive relationship. I want to let everyone know that’s it’s okay to speak up and to tell your story, and to not be scared or ashamed of anything. Which is why I’ve chosen to give up alcohol for 2025, I’m sure this will not be easy but with your donations and this charity’s work it’s definitely worth it. And for those of you who are going though or have gone through this please seek help, I promise you are not alone. - Elise x
