SoCal To Maui - Immediate Fire Relief Fund

Hello, I’m Ryan Harris. I’m a passionate environmentalist, eco surfboard pioneer and surfer. We have friends and family in Maui and visit every 4/5 years for the holidays.

5 years ago I organized an immediate fire relief team and call to action to help those in dire need in the Woolsey Fire that scorched Malibu and Southern California.

Roads were closed and the ONLY way in to reach people with needed supplies was via boat. What started with 1 boat and a solid crew of fellow waterman morphed into a full on armada and “boatercade” delivering the most needed supplies within 3-4 days and we did a successful GoFundMe that was critical in helping us get bigger ticket items to those that needed them quickly.

The devastation in Maui is unprecedented and many people have lost their homes, and lives.

Having first hand experience successfully navigating a similar disaster will help with this new collaborative effort to help our Maui Ohana.

This is a #calltoaction to everyone but especially in the #surf industry.

We’re collaborating with a network of key individuals, leaders in the local Maui community and a tactical crew of trusted professional watermen and women led by Zane Schweitzer who will be leading this strategic guerilla effort to provide immediate assistance and delivery of the most needed supplies to those that need it.

These funds will go directly to purchasing the higher ticket items (generators, gas cans, fuel, oxygen masks, respirators and sealed breathing devices), logistics of getting them there ASAP and helping offset the costs of boat hires, rentals and jet skis.
