Soccerhood Spring 2016
Doação protegida
Soccerhood aims to increase participation of the greater immigrant community within South Orange and Maplewood into the Baird's South Mountain Soccer program. By joining the program these kids are able to enjoy the sports program that so many of our children do, while simultaneously becoming more integrated into our community, and building stronger friendships with the very kids with whom they go to school every day. It has improved their English, and taught them greater responsibility. A win/win for all!
OUR GOAL:
We are sponsoring 7 kids who have enrolled this season by providing complete financial aid and logistical coordination. The money raised will cover the cost registration fees for program. Gently used equipment has already been donated for the kids use, and many parent volunteers help with transportation to pracices and games.
WHO WE ARE:
We are a combination of local parents and teachers who have enjoyed bringing the opportunity to play to kids that otherwise may not have been able. Kate Fearon(Clinton School ESL Teacher & Parent), Jennifer Latimer(Clinton School Media Specialist & Parent), Elizabeth Sarkisian (Parent) and Katie Simpson(MMS ESL teacher & Parent).
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
Please help by making a donation of any amount that you can, no matter how large or small. Alternately, you can sponsor a player with a single donation of $175, covering the cost of the season for one player in full.
NOTE: If preferred, you can make a tax deductible donation via cash or check(cc not possible). Please contact me via the "contact" button below for instructions.
THANK YOU TO OUR WONDERFUL COMMUNITY FOR MAKING THIS POSSIBLE!
Please note, all donations to this site will go directly to a debit account opened in my own name, but which was established exclusively for Soccerhood donations. I withdraw the money as cash(which I keep) and then I write a check from my own personal account to "The Village of South Orange" the Gofundme donations. For this reason donations via Gofundme are not tax deductible, and nor do I claim them as my own deductions. I realize there is a lot of trust involved here, and I thank you for that!
If you prefer to make your own tax deductible donation, you can write a check to "The Village of South Orange", and please deliver it to me so I can hand deliver it and be sure it is properly allocated to Soccerhood.
