Help us build BIPOC-centered Cooperative Housing

Since our beginning as a youth led art collective in 2016, we have been fighting to end white supremacist violence, cultivating strong abolitionist ecosystems and building liberatory futures for Black and Brown people in our city.
Over the past 2 years we have grown faster than we could have imagined and have been able to start projects and build relationships that we could’ve only dreamed of. From our OG spot in Grove Park to camping out on the lawn of city hall, it has helped us learn and grow into the amazing community we are now.
Our evolution from a 2020 to now has been a challenging yet beautiful one and as we enter this new phase we are excited for this new but familiar scope of work. After nearly a year of dreaming and scheming we decided to go all in and build an intentional [living] community with our most vulnerable and often discarded comrades. We have been shown time and time again that we cannot rely on our government to protect us and we have learned that we are the only ones that can keep us safe.
We are working to secure a house or large living space for folks who are unable to go through conventional housing options because of the systematic and carceral approach to housing in Atlanta. We are prioritizing the needs go our Black Trans, Formerly Incarcerated, Disabled, Elderly and otherwise marginalized comrades and we are determined to make it happen because everyone deserves housing.
This community will be a low/no barrier housing option for Black and Brown folks experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity, unsafe living conditions and anything short of safe and stable housing.
We want to work [as best we can] against the capitalist system and create a sustainable model of community care around housing. Folks living in this house deserve the space to exist outside of grind culture which is why our goal is to raise funds for 1 year of rent and utilities, furniture, household items, and anything else to help folks thrive.
This is a massive undertaking, one of our biggest projects to date, but we are ready.
