** UPDATE 12/05/23 **
Sarah is on the path to healing but there are good days and bad days. Yesterday was hard, she awoke in pain and nauseous and spent another day in the ER. Her jaw is still wired shut but she is very much looking forward to going ‘wireless’ at the end of the month! Once the wires in her jaw are replaced with rubber band, she will be able to begin physical therapy. She is so appreciative to all of the love she has received and is endlessly thankful to everyone who has financially contributed to her recovery.
** UPDATE 11/23/23 **
Sarah has been discharged from the hospital. For the next 6 weeks Sarah will have her jaw wired shut for healing. She has a skull fracture and the healing process will be a minimum of several months. Thank you and love.

On Nov. 15th, our friend Sarah was assaulted by an APEC attendee while protesting outside the conference. Sarah was in the streets alongside 1,000s of others from social movements representing climate, labor, human rights, Indigenous rights.
Image description: Sarah is lying in her hospital bed with her head wrapped in bandages. Sarah is being read to by a friend.
Sarah was in the intensive care unit with multiple traumas, including bleeding close to her brain and serious head trauma. Her jaw was broken in multiple places requiring surgery, several of her teeth were knocked into her jaw, and an injured arm. Sarah's long term care, surgical and medical needs are still being determined but will be extensive. We know that her physical and mental healing is only just beginning.
These funds will be used to cover medical bills including a hospital stay, surgery, therapy, and overall care and other expenses for her well-being. We urgently need your support to make sure she has the funds for needed for recovery.
Please contribute to this fund to care for our loved one in this critical time.
