Peoples Solidarity Fund-#sharemycheck!

Donation protected
Inspired by a national movement to #sharemycheck, we are launching a NH-based funding campaign to redistribute stimulus checks.  A number of our community members as well as grassroots organizing groups will not receive critical relief in this time of crisis. We are specifically hoping to reach undocumented, indigenous, gender nonconforming, trans, immigrant, unhoused, disabled, black, brown, and communities of color by supporting immediate relief, mutual aid, and organizing efforts seeking to advance justice even in crisis.

Why are we creating this fund
People who are able to survive right now on their salaries or on accumulated savings and other assets do not need a stimulus check. For many of us, this money would just go to our savings or to purchase unnecessary things.  We ask people who are able to survive right now on their salaries or on accumulated savings and other assets who do not need a stimulus check to commit these and other available resources to this effort. The fund will redistribute urgently needed resources to direct relief efforts aimed to stabilize families, young people, workers, elders, prisoners and immigrants, and to amplify the long-term changes we need for community resilience next time a crisis hits.

Please contribute
If you’re curious about how much your check might be here is a calculator you can use
. For people with access to high salaries or wealth we are asking for a minimum redistribution of $1200 regardless of if they receive a check.

Who and what will receive funding?
Donations will be redistributed with input from key community members and organizers to support immediate relief efforts within undocumented and immigrant communities as well as other mutual aid efforts reaching the most vulnerable community members. These resources will support immediate needs, including food and rent relief, and we also aim to support critical long-term organizing and social change efforts by and for the communities being most impacted by COVID-19.

Who is organizing this effort?
We are community members and social justice organizers who are also personally committed to justice and redistributing our stimulus checks. Currently we are checking with other community members and organizers to figure out the areas of greatest need, and we are planning to set up a more formal advisory committee. Many other people who are accountable to their communities are being contacted and advising us as we write this. We will share their names  if they give us permission to do so knowing that some people will choose to advise confidentially, and we respect their choice.

THANK YOU!
