We all know that Arranmore is the best place on earth! And this Christmas, we’re hoping that you’ll help to make our island even more special by donating to make Arranmore glow and make it easy for Santa to spy in the night sky!
We’d like to brighten up the island by placing Christmas lights along the main routes to create a festive vibe. We are calling on our community, those at home or away. Let's help put a smile on the faces of our children, seniors and the inbetweeners!
*WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP*
If it’s €1 or if you’re a big-spender - every little helps, so if you want to support Arranmore’s community spirit please contribute.
You can make your donation in memory of a loved one, on behalf of a friend or family member overseas or even for yourself by leaving a comment.
Money raised will go directly to purchasing and setting up Christmas lights throughout the island including some of our favourite locations that remind you of home.

Thank you again for the overwhelming generosity that has been shown since we set up the Soilse Árainn Mhór GoFundMe page last week.
We wanted to give an update on the locations (so far!) where the lights will be put up.
We have planned to light up the following locations:
Leabgarrow ferry pier, from the end of the pier up to the grotto by the old pier.
Arranmore Health Centre
Rannagh Park
Highland Radio Mast
New & Old Graveyard
These locations were initially picked as they are all either widely visible or centrally located. In the spirit of shopping local we have agreed vendors with Donegal based companies to supply the lights which we also agreed was important, this year more than ever.
As we continue to receive donations we are hoping to expand on where we will be able to put lights and will keep this group updated as we go along the provisional date for the official light up is Friday December 4th – more information will be provided at a later date.
We also encourage and support families or townlands coming together to light up their houses/areas – the brighter the better
I'll be personally withdrawing the funds on behalf of Soilse Árainn Mhór committee in order to pay for the lights.
