Solomon recovery

Donation protected

Hello to my family and friends, a lot of you may know but some wont.

Solomon has been my best friend for almost 8 years, he is the bonus dad of my 4 children and has raised them and loved them since Cameron (my youngest) was 3 weeks old, he took on me, a single mother who had nothing to offer but a broken heart and he held us all as we grew and I learned to accept love again.

Solomon has asked nothing of me ever, he has never needed my help. As stubborn as he is handsome, he has always been the provider and the rock of this family. It is about time I gave that back to him.

On Thursday, September 21st Solomon started experiencing blurry vision. He thought this would resolve on its own. Days pass and he still has this vision constriction so he schedules an appointment with an eye doctor, about to be sent home with eye drops he waits at the counter as he’s swiping his Visa and says "Ya know what, can I just pay for the retinal, I know something isn’t right." Sure, enough Solomon was told to run, not walk to the Emergency room, I picked him up and took him to Legacy ER where they took him right back with no wait. A few hours later I got a text from him saying he isn't coming home tonight and that they found a brain bleed with his head and neck CT scans.

Fast forward Saturday, September 23rd, half of his vision of completely gone on his left side. They transferred him to a bigger hospital so he can obtain an MRI that we patiently waited all day for results back. Stroke, Thalamic stroke, Lacunar stroke. Brain bleed. Its 1.5CM, then its 2CM, next scan shows its stable, so we breath...

Monday September 25th
We go to Walmart to get Solomon wedge pillows because he will need to be propped up. At this point Solomon is more fragile than a Porcelain Doll in a land mine field... He was cleared to walk and so we did, leaving the store he stops dead in his tracks and says "Headache" this was a dangerous word because the neurosurgeon said "If he has a headache that worse than normal, call 911!" He started walking as slow as possible to the door, barley making it to the car, I FLY him up the hill on Kane and Frontage, his head starts dropping and we get him back into the ER and they gave us the unfortunate news that it’s still growing... This rollercoaster of news, us living in the hospital the last week and me fighting every nurse and doctor for his best possible care, I am exhausted.

Between all his at home care needs. Portable blood pressure cuffs, a log book, circulation cuffs for his legs and even a new bed that will drop him up, the bills are growing as he’s home, I have to be on stroke watch every hour. I am asking, no I am BEGGING for your help. Nobody prepares for things like this and after COVID our emergency funds were depleted.

Our entire home needs to change to accommodate his loss of vision, his fragileness and his safety. I am doing everything I can but it’s not enough, I am seeking the help of my family, friends, their friends and even strangers to help us.
If any of this didn't make any sense it’s because we haven’t really eaten or slept in over a week. Fall term started for me, and our 4 kids are in 3 different schools with all of their activities and appointments.. and I am trying to juggle it all.
please, if you’re able to, please help us. If you’re unable to, please spread the word.

As of now, his vision is partially gone, it may never return. We will be going to appointments almost weekly, scans and more waiting will be done. The bleed continues to grow everyday. Medical bills are already starting to pile up and his medicine needs are demanding. I am trying to stay above water, but I cannot do this alone. If anyone knows me, they know I would rather cut off my own fingers than ask for help, but here I am. My hands outstretched asking for help.
