Help Somaia and Her Family Rebuild a Better Future

Please save my family and take them to a safe place. I want to restart again. I am Somaia Hana, a henna artist, who always brings smiles to the faces and hands of children and adults with my drawing talent. I'm present during all the happy occasions in Gaza. I have five children, two studying at university and three in school. My family and I are from Gaza, which has been under siege for over two decades. We have been living with the siege.

Over the past 13 years, I've worked tirelessly, dedicating myself to my family, working hard, planning, and building my career. Despite facing challenges, I became a well-known professional henna artist in Gaza. But since October 7th, things have changed for the worse. We are now suffering from a major war that has taken away everything we have - our jobs, homes, and lives. My family and I are now suffering from a lack of safety everywhere. Shells and explosions force us to move from one place to another, and we haven't found any safe shelter. Even my children's universities and schools have been destroyed. We now lack the most basic necessities of life - food, drink, or winter clothes. The war has destroyed all our dreams and the futures I built for my children. I need your help to get my children out of Gaza to Canada, where we can restart in a safe place, continue their education, and return to work, away from the war in Gaza, where my home has been destroyed, and I no longer have shelter.

Here's a breakdown of the estimated costs for each member:

- Evacuation Fee/Egyptian Coordination: $10,600 CAD (Considering current evacuation fees and coordination expenses at the Egyptian border).

- Transportation to Rafah Crossing: $2,500 CAD (Allocating $500 to account for challenging conditions and potential fuel scarcity in Gaza).

- Flight cost to Canada: $600 CAD

- $10,000 for the first semester in university for two children

- GoFundMe Fee: $2,900 CAD (Approximately 2.9% of each donation, covering the platform’s fee).
