Medical Expenses

My name is Janet. I am a wife, mom of 5 children, and a horseback riding instructor/equestrian facility owner. My passion is teaching girls and young women how to be strong, brave, and successful through horseback riding.

I am not good at asking for help, I never have been. I am a helper, always willing to be there for someone else. Last year I had to start learning how to ask for help as I medically was not ok. My anxiety was getting worse and soon turned into depression, all while I was having thyroid issues and adrenal deficiencies. I started hemorrhaging every time I had a period and was mentally and physically exhausted. I was sent to an endocrinologist to help with my thyroid and adrenal issues, and my nurse practitioner started me on depression medications, but the bleeding continues. So my husband and I have decided that a hysterectomy is the right answer as there seems to be no medical reason behind my angry uterus. I’m scheduled for surgery August 15, and while we have medical insurance, the deductible is hefty. This will be combined with time off work for not only me but my husband too to care for me and shuttle kids around. Add that to my already growing medical bills, deposit for a new equine facility, and cancelled lessons due to the extreme heat, we are barely holding our heads above water.

It is so hard for me to admit any of this. Any donation amount is appreciated beyond words.
