Something to Ease a Mother’s Grief
Don protégé
Alfred was my friend.
Life gets in the way and we lost touch except for the occasional birthday greeting or Christmas card. Even so, he was never far from my thoughts and in my heart. He had a life-changing accident right out of high school so his mom took him to New Jersey to care for him. Over the decades he received the best care that only a mother can provide and lived his best life.
My heart broke when I found out he had died on May 5, 2024. In my grief, I have found some solace in communicating with his mom. She mentioned wanting to save and fundraise so that she could build a niche/memorial for her son ~ something NO mother should have to do! As a mother myself, I cannot imagine the sheer grief of building a memorial because you’ve lost a child.
I would like to surprise her with any amount I am able to generate so that this loving mother can, hopefully, find some small sliver of peace in a world that was blown apart with the loss of her beloved son.
