Hello Family & Friends ~
Our Team of 12 Men & Women will be Running a 200-Mile Relay Race from Miami to Key West on February 6th - 7th. We are running to raise funds for Special Olympics of Montgomery County, PA.
Special Olympics provides people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities an opportunity to train and compete in Olympic-style sports. Through their training and competition, the Athletes improve their physical fitness, general health, social skills and best of all -- have a great time doing it!
Special Olympics Montgomery County, PA conducts training and competition in 18 sports and serves over 1,200 athletes (and their families) each year. This organization is 100% supported through fundraising. That means that all of the uniforms, equipment, tournament fees, practice time at gyms and pools is only possible through donations.
We are hoping that you can support our Team by donating to this worthy cause (which is especially dear to two of our runners, whose sister (and sister-in-law) is a long time Special Olympics MontCo Athlete).
Here's a snapshot of what your donations can do:
$30 - Competition Fees - a $30 donation will cover the competition fees for the Penn State Summer Games
$35 -Transportation Fees - a $35 donation will cover transportation costs for one Athlete to get to the Summer Games at Penn State
$50 - Uniforms - a $50 donation will cover the cost of one basketball uniform. The MontCo "Stars" are in dire need of new uniforms.
$115 - One Year of Sponsorship - $115 will sponsor an Athlete for 1 year of Special Olympics events & programming
**Of course we are happy to accept any amount you are able to donate.
All donations are tax deductible and Special Olympics Montgomery County will issue a receipt/ Thank You Note to all donors.
