Son, recent graduate, diagnosed with Rare Cancer.

Hi, my name is David Charo, I am fundraising for my son Jeremiah Charo. My son, Jeremiah Ishmael Charo, just graduated from High school this summer of 2023 when he was unexpectedly diagnosed with a very rare type of Non Seminoma Cancer. Unfortunately there are four types & only biopsy results will tell which type. This type of Cancer started as a testicular cancer which spread throughout his upper body and spine near his neck, making it impossible for my son to walk. This Cancer has made him lose his mobility which will require physical therapy for the next few weeks and other side affects chemo may cause like fertility damage.

To Make matters worse, my wife, his mom, has been battling Huntington's Disease for the past 9 years, which is recently placed in the hospice stages. It has been difficult as a father to see our kids watch their mom pass slowly right before their eyes. I have been managing the rest of our family of 4 with my job, but bills and basic necessities will make it difficult, as my goal now is to support my sons young health. My son will have a difficult time physically and emotionally for the next few months as he will have to go through chemotherapy. As his father, I will fight a long side my son to see that he walks again. So now our family is not only fighting Huntington's Disease, but Cancer as well.

Today, you can help me keep the only promise I made to my wife, who is battling Huntington's disease. And that promise is to protect, provide and empower our family to live their own lives free from life's already difficult challenges. Any donation big or small will help pay for unforseen bills which will accumulate rapidly within the next few weeks. My employment will and has been affected to where I have stopped working in order to support and transport my son through this difficult transition, as I have no one to help me, but understand how long this journey will be. Please understand how difficult it is for me, as I am proud of what I do, but I am asking for your help.

Like my grandfather who raised me, I have a simple mentality...in my family.. we give our challenges hell or high water, we do not surrender, we leave no man behind. We will provide for our wounded and we will defend the weak..but my greatest honor is that I will lay my life if I have for the family I love...because that is what we do, that is who we are. We face fear head on because We are the Charo's!
