Songbird is a short film inspired by the true events of a couple trying to conceive their first child, and when they finally do it ends in a heartbreaking miscarriage. We follow the couple trying to grieve this process, only to find that it's not as easy as it seems.
The inspiration for this short film is a desire to help others who have been through this learn how to grieve and heal from their loss, and to help others who have not been through this understand how difficult this journey can be for some.
We have some initial funding, but in order to successfully complete the film-making process (and to make everything easier for the staff, talent and crew), we need additional funding to help with essentials such as...

Our hearts desire is to make this film with excellence, as we believe this topic deserves to be produced and presented at a high-standard because we know it will speak to audiences around the world.
We are in pre-production right now and we'll need the funding by mid-July and it would absolutely mean everything to us to receive this funding.
Having this film come to life means normalizing such a taboo and heartbreaking subject and not being afraid of the word "miscarriage". It's amazing how healing it can be when one understands that they are not alone and others have walked this journey before them. This is just my way of showing people that I have walked this journey and that they too can heal from this.
