Sonny Grace Horse Accident

Hello, my name is Christine Hidalgo and I’m raising money for Sonny Grace’s medical bills. On Monday night, little Sonny Grace was in a horse accident. She is doing good and is home now however they ran into an insurance snag. They have insurance however Cooks does not accept it. Their medical bills are piling up. Her parents, Cherie & Johnny own Sonny James Equine Ministry and every penny they have goes back into the ministry. I’m asking we all pull together to help a family that’s always holding it together for others. 100% of the funds raised will do to her medical bills.

On Monday evening as we were getting ready to wrap up preparing for the biggest week of the year, Stock Horse of Texas World Show. Sonny Grace was in involved in a freak accident with a horse. She was on the ground in her safe zone when the horse spooked and somehow cleared other horses and kids and landed on top of her in the front of them. We immediately scooped her up and headed to Cook’s Children’s Hospital with tears rolling down her face all she was upset about was the World Show and her leg was hurting. We arrived there only to find out she would need surgery on her elbow and her leg also fractured. All through Monday night she just kept waking up crying about the World Show. She was so excited! We love being with all our people ❤️! We had surgery Tuesday morning and everything went well. She is in a cast in her left arm from her wrist to her shoulder and her left leg from her ankle to her thigh. We are so grateful Kris Helsley shows up like Superman with a wheel chair because apparently if you do not have insurance that they accept they can not help you! She is in a wheel chair for the next 6 weeks or bed. All of that said we made it home and are preparing to change our lives for next 6 weeks ❤️. In the meantime God had me so ready for this to happen….everything was already prepared to haul and packed for horses and girls. Then what happened next Casey Hidalgo, Christine Ogren Hidalgo, Olivia Hodnett, Cat Hodnett and Daeleigh Patridge stepped up to make everything happen as planned all trailers left barn on time Tuesday while Sonny Grace was in surgery. Emily was running things back and fourth from our house to the barn that were not packed. And right on time what happens when you are trying to make things happen a few things are forgotten, even sometimes a horse so her comes Kristen King Vidal to haul Emma’s horse and the one left behind and grab just a few items forgotten. Tessa Helsley, Ella Helsley, and Lorelei Tabor headed out with the team to pick up slack that day and even with pouring rain the of people team get everything set up and prepared. All of Sonny James Equine Ministries parents step up for our hospitality stall, other things needed and checking on us. Elizabeth Forney McCarthy and Christine Timmerman have the meals under control to coordinate with Kristen for meals. June King shows up with all missing supplies! Jimmy Sorrell steps in up to help Emma conquer cow and Casey steps up for lameness issues. Jill Jennings Dunkel and Harley Weber who have helped me by phone to get through all our issues and needs at the show Thank you. Grace Ramsey shows up at 5am Thursday morning to get James to show on time so she does not miss one class ❤️. Sarah Michelle Garner still carry’s on with our market! Then all the Sonny James Ranch and ministry girls step it up to pull the weight of missing puzzle pieces for chores and each other! What about my Jesus?

- [ ] These girls get up and ride today and show with out two of the biggest pieces of their puzzle and pull it off and understand we have taught them so much more than just horse showing ❤️!

- [ ] Dae continue to pull the weight like a championship…bible study and meetings still happening with out any guidance from me and she is showing two horses ❤️! If that is not amazing Johnny Morton makes for Go 2 and save the day for Thea Underdahl! Casey is still this morning being the medicine man! Show updates to be continued !

- [ ] Then there is more what about our amazing Pastor Joe Daggs he did not miss a beat with phoen calls, check ups, and praying. Then our church family PCCC- Parker County Cowboy Church and members, our healing team for prayers, checks up on us, and helps us. To everyone who reached out there are so many thank you! We have a huge road ahead of us medically, financially, and everyday life but we are going to trust Gods plan ❤️! Sonny Grace says she can still sing ! I think if you even have a second to read this you know God is up to big things! I do believe and know in my heart Sonny Grace’s accident may just be to show God is all around us daily and bring people together for the better in such a dark world.
