Keep Sonny Shining!!

My name is Arlin, I'm the daughter of Sonny and Joyce Riggs.

My parents were on their way to Rome Sunday night to depart on a cruise. On the plane, my dad suffered an ischemic stroke. He is being treated at San Camillo hospital in Rome and it will likely be 3 to 4 weeks before he can fly home. He is still in intensive care, so my mom has not been able see him. Once he is in a room we will be able to speak to him.

We are told he is making improvements daily and will start physical therapy soon. My mom has found a hotel near the hospital and she will stay in Rome with him.

My dad is a beloved teacher, father, grandfather, and friend. He has one of those personalities that lights up a room and is my absolute favorite person. He told me once, " I just felt like I always needed to live up to my name, Sonny". It's true, he is a ray of sunshine.

My mom is a caregiver, she lives to care for others. She bends over backwards to care for her family and friends.

All donations will be used to alleviate any financial stress so my mom can stay in Rome and concentrate on helping my dad.

We are so grateful and overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and concern we have received for my dad. Thank you. Arlin
