Sooki’s Full Teeth Removal Surgery

This is my fur baby, Sooki. She just turned 3 years old in December and already needs to have extensive dental surgery, including having all of her teeth removed, due to a rare gum disease she has developed called Feline Gingivostomatitis.

Recently, Sooki who was once very food motivated, has not been eating right and often hiding during meal times. So we took her to the vet and eventually a dental specialist where they informed us of this rare, and potentially fatal disease. Unfortunately insurance doesn’t cover any pre-existing condition and without any coverage, Sooki’s teeth removal surgery will cost about $5000. That does not include any aftercare, treatments and medications she may need following the surgery. Without the teeth removal, the doctor has informed us Sooki would eventually stop eating all together due to the extreme pain her gums cause her, and would need to be put down. Again, she is just barely 3 years old.

I know everyone feels this way about their pets, but Sooki is extremely special. She is the happiest, most loving little angel and the perfect therapy cat. She follows me around day and night, sleeps on my chest every night, and is a companion to her kitty sister, Korra. Without her we would be lost. She is still so young and we want her to be able to live the longest, most full life we can give her. That starts with this surgery and whatever follows.
