Sophia and Max's 2022-2023 Holiday Food Drive

Sophia and Max became aware of Food Insecurity in 2020 while watching the news during the COVID pandemic. They saw long lines of people trying to obtain food at food banks. Locally they saw an increase in individuals affected by homelessness.

In 2020 they decided to take action. They started an Annual Holiday Food Drive and were blessed by the generosity of the local community. Their efforts were spotlighted on Local 4 News Detroit , Fox2Detroit News and The Troy Times. Mayor Ethan Baker, and the Troy City Council, issued a Proclamation recognizing their hard work in February 2022. In their first two years, they collected 3,840 pounds of food for local charities (The Neighborhood House and St. Vincent De Paul).​

This year, Sophia and Max are encouraging other children to fight hunger in their local communities. They have started an organization, KidzKare , as a platform for others to get started and share their success.

100% of donations given through this GoFundMe will be used to purchase food for Sophia and Max's 2022-2023 Annual Holiday Food Drive.
