Hey everyone! Sophie Tompkins is a high school student recently diagnosed with POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) which is a form of dysautonomia. Dysautonomia is a disorder of the nervous system which regulates functions we don't control such as heart rate, blood pressure.... you know.... the important things that keep you living a happy and healthy life. Sadly, she was misdiagnosed for a few years.
This condition has caused Sophie to go from a normal, happy child to not being able to do the things she loves. She often has to miss school.
There are centers that can help her but they cost a fortune. And her mom already has mounting medical bills due to the frequent trips to multiple specialists and hospitals just to find out what was wrong.
Jen and I have started a go fund me account to try and get Sophie the care she deserves! Unfortunately, the cost is $7,000 and she needs $1,000 just to save a spot for her. We know this is a lot and even if we can't raise the money to get her there, we are hopeful we can raise some to either help pay the current medical bills she has plus some to help cover the cost.
I added a link if you would like more information regarding her condition.
Thank you! What is POTS dysautonomia
