Sophia's Running Away to Join the Circus

As some of you know, Sophia is running away to join the circus! There are a limited number of careers one can pursue after being a lifelong competitive gymnast like Sophia has been, and circus arts is a natural fit. Many of you have watched Sophia perform over the years and have enjoyed her innate and intense talent. We are over the moon excited for her to have the opportunity to train this year at the San Diego Circus Center Prepatory Program--a Professional Circus Training program that will hopefully lead her toward her goal of a future career with Cirque de Soleil or other professional circus arts performance group. Her tuition, housing, and limited living expenses for this 9-month program will be approximately $30,000. As we have started down this nontraditional performing arts road, we have learned that funding sources are also...nontraditional. And, by nontraditional, I mean, nearly non-existent. We have explored all the options and precisely zero of the traditional "college" or "career training" funds are available options so we are cobbling together what's needed. Starting a gofundme to make up the difference between what we have and what we need isn't something we thought we'd ever have to do, but here we are. Many of you have supported her over the years, and we are so thankful. A number of our friends have requested we set up this fundraiser to help Sophia pursue her dreams. We don't expect anything, but if you are so inclined to contribute to her efforts, we would be forever grateful.
