Help James Fulfill A Promise to His Daughter

Friends and family,

When tragedy strikes, its devastation leaves a trail of questions, sadness and despair. But sometimes finding the humor is cathartic. James was never a dog lover. But after he had his heart attack, he jokingly told Sophie that if he died, then she could have dog. At the time it was a nice, family joke, and we all laughed. And since his death actually happened, Sophia is going to get a dog. In fact, before telling Sophia that her dad had passed Jen alarmingly remembered this promise. And shortly after Sophia found out, SHE remembered her dad‘s promise. Kids never forget a promise, right? I’m hoping to make this bit easier on my sister, and at least help her cover the costs of having a new dog. Sophia already has an Amazon wish list going and honestly it’s a good distraction after losing her grandfather just shortly before her dad. A dog that can offer some emotional support would be a blessing and maybe it would offer my sister some emotional support as well. I’m hoping they can use some of that money to kennel this dog when they have to go to their Omaha Nebraska doctor appointments.
