Sophie's battle against kidney cancer

In June 2021, at age 20, our little sunshine Sophie was diagnosed with Kidney cancer. She went through 4 rounds of chemo, 15 rounds of radiation & 3-4 weeks of ablation. 3 months later as she was waiting for her results and almost in remission, she was then diagnosed with [fucking] bladder cancer. This then required 2 rounds of intravesical chemotherapy and 6 weeks of immunotherapy. By the end of Nov 2021, Sophie finally got great news that she was cleared of both cancers!

Fast forward to Valentines Day 2022, at 1am, Sophie was rushed to hospital and told that her kidney cancer was back. She underwent immunotherapy (for the second time) for 6 weeks & was cleared by the end of April.

At age 22, Sophie has battled 3 types of cancer and will be [ferociously] facing her fourth.

A few weeks ago, after experiencing a series of symptoms, she was rushed into hospital again and diagnosed with her 4th round of cancer: the damn kidney cancer is back.

This next journey will be 3 rounds of chemo & 6 weeks of immunotherapy.

While chemo & most cancer treatments are covered by health care, immunotherapy unfortunately is not & extremely costly. Each segment has cost over $12,000 and this time is no exception. To help Sophie conquer cancer, we must help her conquer these bills!

Sophie (also nicknamed Sophila) is starting chemotherapy on Friday July 7th.

For you gracious donors, Sophie & I are going to be making bracelets - both beaded and string. Crafts are something Soph & I have always bonded over & since Soph's treatments can last up to 8 hours each round, this will give her something fun & hopeful to do for ya'll :)
