Sorensen Family Emergency Fund
Donation protected
On Wednesday January 8th 2020 Michael Sorensen was tragically run over by SUV while walking to his car leaving work. He was rushed to Stony Brook hospital due to his severe head injury among several other severe injuries. Luckily, Mike is still alive. Our family has several obstacles and hurdles in front of us. Since Mike is the sole provider - (I was diagnosed with MS 1999 and Sarcoidosis 2013 and most recently Lupus markers making it impossible for me to work and my son Chris has autism diagnosed 1999, and was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes in 2013) our family is stretched beyond its means. My daughter Alyssa was on her way to an athletic scholarship at a major college when tragedy struck our family again. She was involved in the Southern State bus crash and was injured and unable to preform and receive the scholarship funding. I and my aging father Albert also care for my Mother Lucy who has suffered 4 strokes and is wheel chair bound at home. Mike also cares for his Mother Joan who fell in December and is currently in rehab, is due to be released in 2 months, and suffers from dementia. Since Mike is an only child and will not be capable of caring for her, the responsibility will fall upon our family. I am not one for asking for help and would rather give than receive. But I am waking up crying every morning not knowing where to turn so I ask that anything you can spare during these difficult times to help my family would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and God Bless.
