Sorghum & Salt Employee Fund
Donation protected
Sorghum & Salt has had the pleasure of serving our community for years but, in light of recent events, we have had to close our doors to our friends and neighbors. We have been relegated to Carry out and delivery only which is not what we normally do, but it is the only way we can continue to serve our guests and not waste product from our pantry.
In addition, we are about to begin serving meals to 50 unemployed Hospitality employees each day so that we can use all the resources we have; time, ingredients, and a commercial kitchen. We need help to purchase ingredients, as well as keeping on enough of our staff to work these shifts feeding the unemployed in our community. Some of our approx expenses are as follows:
Rent: 140.13 daily
Gas and electric : 30 daily
Insurance: 25.33 daily
Business loan: 83.26 daily
Water: 13.33 daily
Payroll for small crew still employed: 200 per day
This past few weeks have been stunning, gut wrenching, and left everyone in hospitality with a tremendous amount of uncertainty about the future for us and our employees. For the first time in Charleston we had to layoff employees so they could file for unemployment.
Although it is not easy to ask for help, any donation can greatly help members of our staff stay afloat and pay vital bills such as rent and utilities so that we can reopen, rehire our staff all while continuing to support local farms and breweries.
Please stay safe and thank you for your support!
