Soul of Chinatown Rice Fund
Donation protected
Soul of Chinatown is a not-for-profit, community advocacy group in Sydney's Chinatown. We are passionate about fostering community and amplifying voices in Chinatown. A big part of that is to honour and respect our elders.
The Soul of Chinatown Rice Fund aims to connect with elderly Chinese-Australians who have faced growing isolation and fear during the COVID-19 pandemic over the past two years. Many have not been able to get their groceries in Chinatown due to lockdowns or worsening mobility. The Rice Fund recently donated 35 grocery hampers to Chinese-Australians living in social housing in Surry Hills - this was only possible due to private donors and the support of Chinatown businesses.
Help us donate more grocery hampers! Soul of Chinatown aims to expand its Rice Fund to help many more people and to continue to foster and grow the Chinatown community. The funds will go towards:
- Quarterly Rice Fund grocery hampers for Chinese-Australians
- Hot meals for those who need it most
- Community events in Chinatown
Every dollar of the Rice Fund goes towards these elderly folk and those who are disadvantaged. We will always prioritise the involvement and support of Chinatown businesses.
Thank you for your support!
