Soumik Chakraborty Heart Transplant

Hi, my name is Mark Fishwick and I'm raising money for Soumik Chakraborty.  Soumik works in our Bangalore India office, and I've worked with him since 2018.  At 39 years old, he is working hard to grow in his career to support his wife Pooja and two small children. Then the unthinkable happened… In July, Soumik was diagnosed with myocarditis. This disease has made his heart muscles weak and his heart is functioning at only 20%. Soumik was told the tragic news that he requires a heart transplant. Soumik has been added to the heart donor list and is awaiting the opportunity for a new heart.

Soumik does have medical insurance but this only covers about $6,600 USD per year. He has used up much of this amount from hospital stays, doctor’s appointments, MRIs, EKGs, etc. Our hope and prayers are that we can raise enough funds to pay for Soumik’s surgery, additional treatment and assist with the loss of his paycheck while he recovers. The total cost we are trying to raise is $70,000 USD before a donor heart becomes available. It is always hard to ask for help, but we know that right now any urgent donations would go such a long way for further treatment (pacemaker) to keep Soumik going until a donor heart becomes available.
