Soumppou Kaffo Bronx Fire Recovery
Donation protected
Soumppou Kaffo is an African community farm in New York State. Founded in 2019 by fifty five members, Soumppou Kaffo strives to empower and serve African communities in the Hudson Valley and in New York City.
Many Soumppou Kaffo community members reside in the Bronx. Earlier this year, the community lost family members and livelihoods in the Bronx apartment building fire, and several individuals were hospitalized with injuries from the fire. This fundraiser is an effort to support those families affected by the fire. Donations will go directly to families to pay for medical expenses, help cover funeral costs, and provide support for temporary and permanent housing.
Any donation amount will be hugely helpful for the Soumppou Kaffo community. If you have any questions regarding Soumppou Kaffo or this fundraiser, contact Kama Doucoure at (718)-974-5933.

USE OF DONATIONS:
Soumppou Kaffo will withdraw the funds from GoFundMe, and recovery funds will then be distributed by community leaders among community members impacted by the apartment building fire. Eligible recipients include residents of the apartment complex, regardless of whether they are directly involved in Soumppou Kaffo's farm.
During a meeting held in late February, the community decided to hire a lawyer to help ensure the funds would be distributed as directly, equitably and transparently as possible. The funds will be distributed by check.
