Dear friends, family, regulars and the Town of New Canaan,
A while back, I came to New Canaan and opened South End Restaurant without knowing the future. Today I am faced with the same fear of not knowing what the future holds. I have always struggled with finding the right words, but these words are the MOST important.
There are many influences on all businesses but none harder than the margins of the service industry. I am humbled by the unprecedented interruption of business due to the COVID 19 virus which has affected everyone in our community.
We are trying to take every step possible to remain resilient. We have already risked financial stability and our employee’s health ensuring hot meals are delivered from our home to your table. It is what we do, it is in our nature, we are in the service industry.
We are creating a relief fund to help our employees affected by layoffs today. These funds will be used to help those at SE & UC who will face significant hardship in the weeks and maybe months to come. Please find it in your heart to help our employees and help the sustainability of South End and South End Uncorked.
South End is a proud supporter and contributor to the people and Town of New Canaan. As hard as it is to ask for help, it is also humbling, and it kills me to press click to send this message.
