Help the South Slope Dog Run get top soil & mulch

Hello, my name is Evan Saucier, and chances are you've seen me and my beagle Indiana at the South Slope Dog Run on 18th St. & 7th Ave. (we're there all the time). A group of South Slope dog owners & I are hoping to raise funds to purchase some top soil and mulch for the Dog Run.

You may have noticed the Dog Run has a lot of exposed tree roots, is prone to dust clouds, and has problems effectively draining rain water. Top soil and mulch are our best (and most cost-effective) option to remedy these issues.  We want to protect the Run's trees (our valuable source of shade), and also create a safer and cleaner environment for our dogs (and dog owners).    

Arlo's owner Adam has graciously worked to identify two local landscaping companies that sold us (the Run) 5 cubic yards of top soil and 20 cubic yards of mulch.  (cost = $1200).  We're also planning to buy a small storage shed to house the Run's various donated tools (the shovels and brooms), as well as a wheelbarrow to haul our new batch of dirt & mulch upon delivery (cost = $500; grand total for our fundraiser= $1700).  We're hoping that we can raise this money via donations from you, our wonderful South Slope Dog Run community.

UPDATE 7/23:  We've purchased the dirt and mulch, to be delivered to the curb just south of the Run on Thursday (7/29) by 10am (when we have the street sweeping window so there'll be no cars there during delivery).  We need volunteers that morning to help us move the dirt and mulch into the park and spread it around...please come to the Run then to help us!  And bring with you any tools for moving the dirt and mulch (e.g. wheelbarrows, buckets, garbage cans, etc.) from the curb to inside the Run!
