South Yorkshire Creatives Covid-19 Hardship Fund

Donation protected
This week most of the theatres and arts venues have closed, following government advice around coronavirus. Before that, workshops and group activities had already been postponed or cancelled. There are now lots of brilliant freelance creatives in South Yorkshire left very suddenly without work or income.

Yes, it should be the government's job. Yes, Arts Council England are doing their best. Yes the NPOs will hopefully be honouring their contracts. But there will be people who fall through the cracks, who can't wait two weeks or a month or three months to find out whether they can access any compensation for lost income. This fund is for them.

If you need a small amount, up to £200, very quickly for rent, bills, a food shop, transport or petrol, access support, childcare or anything else then this is for you. Please get in touch, and don't be shy. First come, first served - let's look after each other. Just email [email redacted] and we'll get it sorted. You don't need to tell us much - just what's happened and how much you need to get you through in the immediate term. Most people ask for between £50 and £200.

And please, if you have some spare cash, a lot or a little, consider donating. We appreciate every business and charity and arts organisation you love will be asking. But every little really does help.

With many thanks to Luke Barnes, Laurence Young, Jay Crutchley, Bryony Kimmings, and Amahra Spence for the inspiration xx
