Souther Family for the passing of Mark Souther

My name is Angie Miller and I wanted to start this GoFundMe campaign for my sister Tami and her family who is grappling with the sudden loss of her beloved husband Mark. Loved ones, friends and even strangers have felt the warmth of his selfless generosity. Whether it be to come over and fix your computer, rewire your entertainment system, fix your car, help make food, counsel you or just play with the kids so you could get something done, Mark made his purpose about making life easier for others.

On July 5th Mark was told to go to the ER after routine labs came back abnormal. He was admitted July 6th and transferred to the Cancer Department at Kaiser Oakland and after one round of chemotherapy his body went into septic shock. He had multiple organ failure and was put on a respirator all within a few days of being admitted. Sadly, he passed away on Sunday, August 7th with his family by his side. Mark was the cornerstone of his family. His loss has been deep and the void in our lives without him has been heavy.

Above all, Mark was a Christian and even in the hospital when he had a friend call and say that he was going to church and they would pray for him, Mark replied, “don’t forget to praise Him too!”

Tami’s life has been dramatically changed with this loss. Mark's passing was unexpected and swift, and as with most intense acute illnesses, there are medical expenses that are not fully covered by insurance and the burden will be heavy. Mark was known for giving "more". If you feel moved to donate, thank you...but more than anything I would ask that you lift Tami and her family up in prayer during this incredibly difficult time

The Celebration of Life/Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 3:00pm at the Cross and Crown Lutheran Church in Rohnert Park, CA where Mark has lived and served for the past 41 years
