Southernmost Buoy 39th Birthday Family Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Paul Menta, and I live in Key West, Florida, right by the Southernmost Point Buoy. This year myself and David Sloan are organizing a 39th birthday celebration for the famous buoy while raising money for kids in need in Key West, Florida, and a little town with just 163 residents called Angle Inlet, Minnesota.

Most people don’t know there is a Northernmost Point Buoy in Angle Inlet. To get there, you have to cross the border of Canada. They deal with extremes as we do in Key West, but they get the snow; we get the heat.
The pandemic has created struggles at both Points. The border crossing to access Angle Inlet was closed, cutting off tourism revenue generated from their fishing and nature tourism. Tourism is Angle Inlet’s primary revenue source. A hopeful summer season was struck with floods, and revenue loss has impacted funding for their children’s programs.
Angle Inlet has the only one-room school house in the United States. A building for year-round kid’s activities was constructed next door to the school, but funding ran out, and money is needed to purchase sporting equipment for the activity center. We are asking for your help.
Your donation will directly help Key West and Angle Inlet fund creative projects and sporting activities for their families and children. We are working with Samuel’s House in Key West and the Northwest Angle School in Angle Inlet.
We will raise funds through September 10th, the 39th birthday of The Southernmost Point Buoy! Your donation of any amount will help as we forge a new relationship with the people behind the other famous Buoy.
Thank You from both Buoys!
