Sow Radical Seeds Mural

Tax deductible
With the help of a local neighborhood resident wall scout, two Montavilla Neighborhood Association (MNA) members Amanda Rhoads & Robynh Head was connected to Tiffany Conklin of the Portland Street Art Alliance, a local arts 501(c)3 non-profit that works to support the creation of vibrant street art in the city.

Together, in only one week - we secured this amazing wall on the side of the Montavilla Animal Clinic building right next to the weekly Montavilla Farmer's Market, submitted paperwork for a city mural permit, secured a volunteer artist team, developed a powerful design, and found money to buy some supplies.

This mural is a female-led grassroots effort. A team of three mural organizers, and three muralists No Bonzo (Portland), GirlMobb and Sara Eileen (Oakland) made this happen.

It depicts two strong women, sowing the seeds of radical community-driven change. Nurturing a more sustainable world where communities have food security, food sovereignty, and equitable access to healthy nutritious foods.

The building owner paid for all the painting supplies but everyone donated their time. The MNA Land Use and Transportation Committee will be fundraising to pay the artists for their time and creativity. Help us raise the rest of the money!
