Soyuzivka is going for the Mattresses!

A unique opportunity has been presented to the Soyuzivka Ukrainian Heritage Center and it comes in the form of quality Simmons Beauty Rest mattresses for both Kyiv and Halych. An extremely favorable quote was presented which is hard to ignore, yet with the slow winter months, current revenues make it hard to close on the deal.

The cost for new mattresses to replace every mattress in Kyiv and Halych (30 beds in total) is $9500. The mattress company can’t hold this quote for more than 28 days, thus the sense of urgency to raise this money rather quickly.

Like our first fundraiser last year, upon collecting the complete funds, I will immediately transfer the entire amount to Stephen and the Soyuzivka team and post a picture of the transaction as well as the arrival and set up of the mattresses - on this very same GoFund Me page.

At our unique Heritage Center, we know you come for the view, and stay for the event. We offer a million-dollar view, authentic cuisine to thrill the palate and events that create a lifetime of memories. Therefore, your overnight lodging should be comparable. We want to offer you a full experience, and that means enjoying the simple pleasure of a great night’s sleep that only a new, supportive, and luxurious mattress can provide.

Why Kyiv & Halych? Built in 1955 the Kyiv building is one of Soyuzivka’s most unique and historical buildings. Its last major update was in the early 1990s. Therefore, there is much work to be done both on the exterior and the interior. With its own iconic views, Kyiv is also a premier building that plays host to many weddings, private parties, and winter getaways.
Halych, built in the late 1980s - needs its first major update. Nestled against the woodlands, the brush is being trimmed back, the lobby & kitchenette are being repaired, and only the smaller rooms received new mattresses (and that was already five years ago). We are relentlessly attempting to push up the timeline to complete these updates, which includes procuring the remaining new mattresses.

A little history: Over the past 9 months, Soyuzivka Ukrainian Heritage Center has been undergoing the beginnings of a rebirth. Starting on June 1st, 2022, Stephen Barankewicz officially became the Center’s new General Manager. Much of the first few months were dedicated to carrying on with day-to-day functions as well as getting up to speed with the operations and the fiscal constraints that virtually every non-profit organization incurs.

In November, Soyuzivka celebrated its 70th anniversary with a Gala event where Stephen spoke to all the guests revealing current repairs that are necessary to secure the Center’s future but also new business drivers and the expansion of events. Now as we are underway within the 2023 calendar year, the tide is slowly turning into implementation and results. Stephen has been able to set up his team, and they are going forward with their plans on bringing Soyuzivka to its full potential over the next 70 years.

Thank You for your consideration and continued support!
