Spanky needs leg surgery

Hi, my name is Kristen. I found Spanky and his brother while walking one of my other rescue/foster dogs. He came right up to us and followed us around the block, limping and wagging his tail the whole way. Sadly, I believe they were dumped in my neighborhood. Spanky might sound like a goofy name, but that’s because this guy is a little goofball. He is less than forty pounds and loves to play with toys, his fellow fosters, and roll around in the sunshine. He’s about a year old and suffered a break in his leg, likely from getting hit by a car, several months before I found him. That means Spanky has been living with this break for most of his life. He is unable to use his leg for anything other than to kind of balance himself at times. He gets around so well without it that it’s easy to forget that he is running on three wheels! While there is no guarantee that surgery will give him use of his leg back, it will improve his quality of life. Spanky is so young and so sweet and he deserves to be pain free! Once he is healed up I hope to find him a loving home where he can get all of the attention he deserves. Please help me help Spanky! I appreciate it more than you know. Without help from my community I would not be able to care for the four dogs I’ve taken in this summer (not to mention my senior weenie, super mutt, and two cats).
