On Monday March 25 my niece Jemma was rushed to the Alberta Children’s Hospital because she was having seizures and was unresponsive. She has been in the PICU on a ventilator in a medically induced coma since then. They are keeping her asleep to give the medical team time to try and figure out what is causing the seizures and what treatment she will need to stop them.

Jemma is a fighter and they have told us her heart is strong! The care she is receiving at ACH is exceptional, however she has a very long road ahead of her.

Trisha and Derek have been at her side the entire time. There have been several times when they have needed to make urgent decisions on treatment and care for Jemma.

They are also going to have a long road ahead of them, and need to be at the hospital with Jemma constantly. I have been asked several times ‘What can I do to help them?’...so right now I am starting this campaign to go towards expenses incurred by Trisha and Derek while they are supporting Jemma at the ACH.
