Spartan race for Tom Wroe and Tommy's lounge

On the 29th June myself and 6 other lads will be participating in the spartan race.

The spartan race is a 21K race with 30 obstacles in between, which will definitely push us to our limits.

We shall be carrying this out in honour of Private Tom Wroe, who was killed while serving with the 3rd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment in Afghanistan in 2012. Tom was only 18 years old. Tom would have turned 30 this year so we are celebrating his birthday by doing a challenge that will do him proud. It's also very fitting it's called the spartan race as Tom was in Alma Company which was known as the Alma Spartans.

We will be raising money for this event which will be donated to Tommy's Lounge at the request of Tom's family.

Tommy's lounge mission To provide a safe space for everyone in order to facilitate mental health support through; networking, peer to peer support, signposting, collaboration and reflection. Support local community groups as well as the Armed Forces Community. To prevent social isolation and provide a listening ear where and when required.

Each man that is participating in the event has a target of £100 which would be fantastic if we can fulfil this. Tom Wroe was an outstanding solider and had so much potential and was loved by many.
