Spay Neuter Three Feral Colonies in Belfast and Atlanta, NY

The absolute best way to help prevent suffering in the feline world is to SPAY/NEUTER. It’s an exhausting job with feral colonies. The colony can grow from 2 to 40 easily in one year! The suffering is IMMENSE….. parasites, worms, fleas, ear mites, infections, wounds, environmental dangers, humans, freezing cold.

There are 3 colonies that need to be fixed, but the job is so extremely exhausting and expensive. My first year in rescue we spayed about 100 ferals and strays but by the second year the rescue grew way too big to be able to continue. That’s where 2 selfless, compassionate people come in ….. Bambie Knouse and Gowanda Earley are willing to do the heavy lifting in TRAPPING and TRANSPORTING them to clinics. Without them, this could not be done. We can no longer do large projects like this. We do strays we find on the streets of Hornell or elsewhere but never large numbers at one time.

What we need is your support financially so they can start this project. It will take 1-2 years easily as vet appointments are challenging to find in groups. Dr Lawler, Barn Cat Outreach, the Hornell Humane Society and FL SPCA are the four clinics we intend to use as we are allowed.

Last year we ran a go fund me for a colony here in Hornell and colony caretaker Bridget Griswold was able to take in 11 cats. It was a game changer for the colony. Plus you sent much food which is also needed!

The colony in Belfast , NY is being handled by Bambie and Gowanda actually has 3 colonies right in Atlanta she caretakes.

We will dispense the money as the caretakers/ trappers can allocate “spots” for neuter of their population. We will give updates on progress…. I’m grateful to these ladies as I am too overwhelmed and tired to still do this type of work. Although the thought of their lives out there BREAKS the heart and soul if you allow yourself to think about it even for a few minutes…. Let’s make a difference. ♥️. All funds will go from Cozy Cats account directly to the vetting organizations only. Any food you’d like to send can be sent to 80 Seneca St Hornell and I can deliver to the ladies. We have a regular transporters to Atlanta and Belfast.
