SPC Shawn Peterson Post-Accident Expenses
Donation protected
SPC Shawn Peterson served 3.5 years Active Duty Army and is currently a member of the Washington Army National Guard. On the evening of July 14th, Shawn was traveling with his unit from Vancouver, WA to Yakima, WA for their weekend drill training. Along Interstate 90, an accident occurred causing the military truck to roll into a median. Shawn was pinned underneath the truck for close to an hour before being dragged out from underneath. If it were not for the nurse who witnessed the accident rendering aid as well as the blood transfusion that occurred en route to the hospital, Shawn would not have survived. His injuries are substantial and the road to recovery ahead of him is going to be long and difficult. Shawn suffered a fractured skull, many broken ribs, collapsed lung, shattered arm, and other injuries. He is still in Trauma 1 ICU and is expected to be under intense medical care for a long time. While Shawn is recovering, his family is humbly requesting any help towards any future additional medical expenses that may not be covered, future personal expenses, and help with travel expenses for his family to be able to visit him. As many of you know, none of his family lives very close to the hospital that he is at in Seattle, so it’s been difficult to be with him as often as he deserves.
Thank you so much to everyone who has prayed and offered to help Shawn and our family through this accident.
